My path to the Healing Arts has been a wonderful journey with all the usual, unusual and sometimes UNpredictable twists and turns/ ups and downs. Knowing there truly are no mistakes and realizing everyday is a new opportunity --- I look forward to each day with a sort of 'fun' anticipation ..... what will the Universe bring me this day? What difference can I make this day? What lesson awaits me this day?
To quote my big brother, "It might have taken me awhile to get here, BUT I'm actually right on time".
With a 20 year history of teaching special education/ deaf education and working in settings of medical clinics and audiological private practice, I was privileged working with wonderful students and patients of all ages The stories and experiences left impressions, wonderful memories and the knowledge that we are all, 'Healers' in our own right. My students/patients taught me that healing takes many forms. A simple smile can light up someone's day, kind words can help mend a Heart, a loving hug can give security and a sweet note sent can help ease someone's sorrow. I was the recipient of their healing many times. Looking ahead, I'm very pleased and appreciative that I listened and followed the 'spiritual nudge' to now pursue another passion in my life.
In my practice, I incorporate Reiki, Chios, Therapuetic Touch, Massage, EFT (emotional freedom technique), Healing Touch, Reflexology, and Energy Medicine. I use any or all of these as I am intuitively led. I also draw upon my experience in the martials arts and the understanding of yinyang/ chi/ prana/ and the Grace of the life force within us.
I have communicated all through my life with my hands. Having deafness in the family, I learned early, how to express myself and 'talk' through the use of sign language. I am now honored to be using another form of expression and communication ~~ That of Touch.
I look forward to meeting you and seeing what, lessons, impressions and Blessings await us. Namaste~ Barb
